Hurtta's SURFice dog® Ambassador

Surf Dog Ricochet is a world famous, award-winning surf dog who surfs for fun, wins surf dog contests & most importantly... SURFS WITH PURPOSE! She surfs solo, with children, adults, pros, celebrities, other dogs, a goat & even Rob Machado!

She's the only SURFice dog® on the planet who interacts and surfs with kids with special needs, people with disabilities, wounded warriors & veterans with PTSD as an assistive aid.

In addition, Ricochet is a hero dog and therapy dog who lives a lifestyle of helping others by 'pawing it forward' while raising awareness & offering support to human/animal causes.

But what makes Ricochet extraordinary is her powerful ability to make immediate, deep, heart-to-heart connections with the individuals she interacts with. She intuitively and empathicallyalerts to their emotional and physical changes which allows for profound paws-on healing interventions.

In that time, we have witnessed some pretty amazing life-saving and life-changing transformations in the people that Ricochet has helped. Those transformations led to an organic evolution with Ricochet’s newest program called Waves of Empowerment (WOE). Watch Ricochets latest rides here

Iditarod Team
Hurtta's Blue-Stamp Ambassador

This year in Iditarod we experienced temperatures as low as -60F, and winds up to 30MPH. Thanks to Hurtta and their high quality protective gear, the dogs of KMA Kennel were warm and protected from the elements. My team wore Hurtta winter jackets in the 2015 Iditarod during the harshest conditions Mother Nature had to throw at us.

The dogs were able to run smoothly in them and rest comfortably. The jackets covered and protected the vital parts of the dogs, and with the extra belly wrap and clip, the jackets never moved or flapped around in the high winds we encountered.

The Houndstooth shell kept the inner fleece lining dry, and allowed the jackets to dry quickly when hung inside at checkpoints for our brief stops.

Not only have we used these jackets in the 2015 1000 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race, but in the  2013 1000 mile International Yukon Quest, as well as numerous 300 and 400 mile sled dog races all around the huge state of Alaska. We also use these invaluable jackets in training for these races.

The health, care and happiness of our dogs are our number one priority. Hurtta helps to provide that for all our dogs, and also provides peace of mind for us when we use Hurtta gear. We know we are using the best gear for our dogs.
